FatChanceBellyDance® Certified Studio

My dance journey began late 1999 when I agreed to do a term of bellydance classes to support a friend who wanted to try it. When I first learnt I didnt learn a particular style it was just referred to as 'bellydance'. As I grew I found I was more a bellydance cabaret style of dancer but then I found FCBD style (formally American Tribal Style (ATS)) and fusion in 2005. My speciality area of bellydance study is FCBD style. I love the costumes the movements and the special connections it has given me over the years.

I started teaching in 2003 and have had the privilege of teaching my own classes and classes within the studios I have belonged to over the years. I spread the dance love in Mackay in 2011.

Formal dance qualifications include:

  • Keti’s A-Z original Personal Techniques 2007

  • Fat Chance Belly Dance Teacher Training Certification 2009

  • Dayanimsa/Red Sage FCBD Basket Dialect Instructor 2025

  • Siren Project International Representative 2025

I have attended so many workshops with Australian and International teachers that I have lost count. I am still actively studying to improve my technique, knowledge and skills both as a dancer and an instructor.

Performing is one of my passions and I have had the opportunities to perform different styles as a Soloist, in Duets, Trios and in Troupes with some amazing dancers over the years (you know who you are). I started out in restaurants, being booked for parties and community events then moved onto stage performances with Tribal Jewels (the youngest original member for 5 years back in the day). Currently I am dancing with BIrds of Paradise Belly Dance and Astarte Studio Bellydance & Fusion. I am a member of Astarte Studios very own Steampunk Vagabonds.
