Tassel Making
Tassel Belt Construction

In this workshop Mandylynne will help you with your design and suggest materials in a one on one consultation to help you prepare for the workshop. On the day of the workshop:
Tassel making: Mandylynne will hsow you differnt ways to make tassel. From simple to tassel falls to tassel decoration
Tassel Belt Construction: Mandylynne will provide tips to participants for making their design idea come to life.
Delivery: Zoom (Zoom link will be provided after initial consulation)
Cost: $55 for the two sessions*

Session 1 Tassels: Monday 1st June 2026
Session 2 Belt: Monday 8th June 2026
Duration: Before workshop consultation around 20 mins in correspondance and chatting. Workshop duration 7.00pm to 8.30/9:00ish. This workshop is about setting time side to be creative so the duration will depend on how quick we are.
When you book in:
Mandylynne will contact you and we will discuss your project BEFORE the workshop so you can make any preparations you need. We will go through:
· Design
· Materials **
· Joining via Zoom
Birds of Paradise Bellydance Australia has a range of DIY items you can use on your project including a limited number of base belts.
Workshop Day:
Participants are required to:
· Gather their pretties and project pieces so they are ready for the workshop.
· Are responsible for their own working space being functional, comfortable and FREE FROM HAZARDS.
· Try to be in a quiet area so you can ask questions and participate in conversation with others in the Zoom room.
Workshop Structure:
Session 1
· Introduction and equipment check
· How to create different types of tassels
· Making the style of tassels you like best
Seaaion 2
· Introduction and equipment check
· Design finalisation and belt preparation
· Getting into the project
I have set aside the 2.5-3 hours for each workshop, this is so you can learn how to make different tassels and then work on the tassel style you are after for your project. Then for the belt making session we can really get into the project when we are together. The aim is that participants will have either a finished item or almost finished item by the end, this will depend on the design chosen and hand sewing speed.
Birds of Paradise Bellydance Australia has a range of DIY items and base belts (limited number of base belts available) for purchase prior to the workshop. Participants purchasing items will need to take into account postage timeframes if items need to be posted.
This workshop does not show you how to make medallions so you will need to have medallions ready for the workshop to make the belt.
*The workshop cost if for the time spent with Mandylynne it does not include materials for your project.
** Participants are responsible for the purchase of their own materials.
